CAPTCHA ? Hebrew? / Arabic?

I find the CAPTCHA you need to enter for a forgotten password etc. challenging, one is easy to read and one not, isnt it possible to use actual words so that you can 'see' what the word is.

AND THEN when it is in HEBREW / ARABIC /GREEK (dont know what language this is in) it is especially CHALLENGING , (I dont even have those letters on my macs keyboard ??)

I find the CAPTCHA in general challenging. I sometimes have to ask for 2nd and 3rd options.

Maybe I am too analytical??? .....................or something?

EDIT : But yea that one takes the cake

I am a capcha king! (and I don't know what that is asking for!)

That said... my understanding of capcha is that the 2nd word is a word it has found but doesn't know what it means. The first word it knows, and if you type the first word correctly it will assume the 2nd is correct and match your input to the picture...... and then give it to someone else.

so basically it doesn't matter what you type for the 2nd word

Hi H Pics,

Captchas are definitely far from ideal, but unfortunately are quite necessary with the volume of spammers which target communities like ours these days.

The ReCaptcha system we use certainly has some quirks with very unreadable words and even different languages as in your example. As others have mentioned, you only actually need to get the more readable word correct - the other, as far as I'm aware, only needs to match in length.

I have been looking into alternatives recently as I share the frustration with Captchas.

A nice alternative uses a quick game to verify that you are human: http://areyouahuman.com/demo

We'll be looking at implementing a more user friendly options soon.

Regards,

Matt
