Converting a tt bike to a road bike in off season

I am planning on getting a new TT bike as im training for the 1/2 iron man (and I love the aero frame design :thumbup: ), but i also want to do some road races.

 

So the question is: is it possible to buy a TT bike and convert it to a road bike in the off season as I do not have the cash to buy both?
