North Riding / Bloubosrand safety anyone?

Hi, I'm looking to find a route near my place in north riding with a bit less tar, and looking at google maps, there seems to be a lot of open area up Riverbend road just north of Bloubosrand (Riverbend AH), heading through towards the back of Cedar Lakes. I was wondering if anyone knows or has tried this area? Is there a route through to Cedar Road, and more importantly, what's your take on the safety of that Bloubosrand area in the evenings? Been down that road in my car once or twice and doesn't come across as the most homely.

this is South Africa it is not safe anywhere,ride your bike but be very aware.keep your eyes open and ride fast.good luck

If you're looking to ride in the evenings your safest option is the PWC bike park on a tuesday i think it is. Or the delta night race on a wednesday.

Doing a ride this evening, 3 of us so far from 5:30 - 7. The alternative: Witkoppen -> Leslie -> Lonehill and back.
