Event Name: The ASG 24hr MTB Challenge
When: 2 February 2013 - 3 February 2013
Where: Rosemary Hill, Gauteng
Category: MTB

ASG is proud to announce that our 24hr MTB Challenge will take place on Saturday the 2nd February 2013

The event will be hosted over a 24hr period and will boast a feast of single track as you traverse through ASG’s legendary Rosemary Hill MTB track. Entrants will set up their own camp site at the start, where music, bonfires and lots of activity will entertain them throughout the night, keeping them “pumped up”.

Warm showers, flushing toilets and food and drinks will be available not to mention Rosemary Hill’s spectacular coffee for those in need of a boost.

Prizes will include an array of ASG brands specific to mountain biking as well as sponsor products.

The 24 Hour format is unique as it combines endurance and night riding in a social environment. A massive relay where solo riders and teams of 2, 4, 6 or 8 will compete against one another by completing as many laps as possible in a 24hr time frame (relay style, with only one team member out on the track at any one time). Team tactics will be key, deciding who should ride when, how many laps each rider should complete at any one time, and when to take a break for rest, sleep and nutrition. Solo riders will achieve the ultimate bragging rights in mountain biking! However, all teams (including solo riders) are free to decide how much or how little they ride, and how much time they prefer to spend sharing stories around their campfire! After all, the event is aimed are maximising the enjoyment and experience of all participants.

Again, there will be two different course routes, each of approximately 10km, to make things more interesting, and to provide some variety in terms of terrain and features. Whether you are an experienced or novice rider, this event is designed to accommodate all participants.

If you can't make the full 24hrs, join us on the course from 14h00 to 20h00 and take part in the 6hr Challenge. This separate event runs on the same course with the same rules as the 24hr event. Whilst shorter in duration, it still enables participants to experience the thrill of day and night relay riding.
