Let me derail it back for you!

What do want to accomplish with the setup?  Sand?  Hils?  Climbing?  What's the race?

Give some details!

Why are you not happy with the setup as it came out of the factory?

Minty.  Dirt Rider.  TitusTi?

I find that when the pro-pedal is 'off' it just seems way out of sync with the fork' date=' like the forks too stiff and the rea too soft, but sag on the fork seems correct, not sure if I should be pumping the shock harder than reccomened (7mm sag??) Should I set sag with pro pedal on or off? on I reackon?

Which rear shock do you have....RP 2, 3 or 23?

Don't know if it's just the fact mine has more travel that's at play here, but mine doesn't feel unmatched in either the middle or full ProPedal setting.

I climb on full ProPedal and descend with it completely off and now and then I'll switch it to the middle setting, but I hardly ever go there as the bike is so darn plush even in the full ProPedal setting I just use that for all my flat and uphill riding.

There's definitely that feeling of the rear being softer than the front on descents when Propedal is off.

The fork doesn't have the ProPedal setting so obviously you gotta make peace with the fact that in one/some of the settings it won't be matched. Here there's no right or wrong....it's simply a matter of what you prefer.

I could probably set mine up so that it pedals as well in the middle setting as it does in the full-on setting currently(that seemes like the logical setup to me) since I would then have a 'normal', 'climbing' and 'descending' setting in stead of effectively just an 'on/off' setup I have at present, but I prefer the extra plushness that the current setup allows in the 'full off' mode as my riding style is very much an 'in the saddle' one, even on technical descents.

That being the case, I find that generally(this was even before PP) I preferred a setup of a harder fork and softer rear. My feeling was always that when you're seated you need less shock absorption in the front as you're not resting your weight on your hands. This then aloows the bike to be setup so that when you do stand up the fork is in it's optimal performance range. If it's setup to be nice and plush when you are seated it results in the fork falling to far into it's travel when standing and thus not offering effective shock absorption when you need it most.

The Fox products really are 'set and forget' items to large degree. No negative springs and air chambers blah di blah blah....you just need to decide what best suits your style and preference.

Hope that helps. If it doesn't you can always buy a Titus...? Wink
