Best Road Bike Under 7k?

Hi guys,

 

I have a mate in the office that is looking to get into cycling on the tar and he has a budget of R7,000 maximum.

 

Any idea what brand/and or make has the best on offer for this low price range.

 

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that the bike is going to be anything but light, but he can get carbon upgrades in the future.

 

Something with a good groupset and bike design. Can be either Sram or Shimano doesn't matter.

 

Any ideas?

2nd hand will get you better value for money.

For that i would recommend a second hand bike, im sure youll get a decent older bike with 105 on it. If he dont like cycling (which i would doubt) he can resell it.
