Tumbleweed Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 i get goosebumps when i hear vedder's poem "i'm open": a man lies in his bed in a room with no doorhe waits, hoping for a presence, something, anything to enterafter spending half his life searching, he still felt as blank as the ceiling at which he's staringhe's alive, but feels absolutely nothing so, is he?when he was 6 he believed that the moon overhead followed himby 9 he had deciphered the illusion, trading magic for factno tradebacks...so this is what it's like to be an adult?if he only knew now what he knew then...i'm openi'm open
GreyOwl Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Oh man, I love Pearl Jam! They wanted to do a concert in SA about 6years ago, but came to loggerheads with BIG CONCERTS over the ticket prices. They said the tickets should not cost more than R80 which was deemed affordable by the youngsters at the time. BC said they wanted to dictate the prices, and PJ then declined to come...Pity. I love the album covers from PJ. In my lounge I have an enlarged version of the black and white shot of the man with his arm outstretched from YIELD... Works of art...
GreyOwl Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I have some cool Pearl Jam CD's "Pearl Jam, Live On Two Legs" "Lost Dogs" all their 'B' Tracks "Rear view mirror" as well as all the others of course! 10 was an incredible album, still Raw and edgy rock! Why was the "Jeremy" video banned in the states? Mint Sauce, that song is SO moving...
Tumbleweed Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 grey owl, i framed all the "polaroids" from that no barcode album.

I've met Bowie. I have all his albums (records, not CD's). Favourite song is Station to Station off 'Stage', though. Lou Reed-he was in Sydney last year for the Sydney Festival. He did a concert or two. The best thing though, was I went to a poetry recital. Ralph Fiennes was to participate and when I got there, they announced he wouldn't be and had a replacement. It wasn't until I took my seat that I saw Lou Reed up on stage. I was so excited, this was even better. Ah, it was heavenly. Managed to get a photo of him outside, too.
