So in the mood for some Led Zeppelin now Ermm

i'm in the mood for pearl jam:

my favourite eddie vedder-penned track?

at home, drawing pictures of mountain tops
with him on top lemin yellow sun, arms raised in a v
and the dead lay in pools of maroon below
daddy didnt give attention
oh, to the fact that mommy didn't care
king jeremy the wicked...oh, ruled his world...
jeremy spoke in class today...

hr' date=' how about 'daughter' or 'better man'?[/quote']

alone...listless...breakfast table in an otherwise empty room
young girl...violins...center of her own attention
the mother reads aloud, child, tries to understand it
tries to make her proud

the shades go down, its in her head
painted room...can't deny there's something wrong...

don't call me daughter, not fit to
the picture kept will remind me
don't call me daughter, not fit to
The picture kept will remind me
don't call me...

fiasm, what about "alive"?

is something wrong?, she said
well, of course there is
you're still alive, she said
oh, and do i deserve to be?
is that the question?

and don't you just love the guitars at the start of "dissident":

she nursed him there, ooh, over a night
i wasn't so sure she wanted him to stay
what to say...what to say
but soon she was down, soon he was low
at a quarter past...a holy no...
she had to turn around

when she couldnt hold, oh...she folded...
a dissident is here

grey owl, i love the second verse?

clearly I remember pickin' on the boy
Seemed a harmless little f*&k
ooh, but we unleashed a lion...
gnashed his teeth and bit the recess lady's breast...
how can I forget?
and he hit me with a surprise left
my jaw left hurtin'...ooh, dropped wide open
just like the day...oh, like the day I heard

I have a live version(dunno where from) of Nothingman that is nothing short of incredible....practically gets me to tears

"Nothingman"

once divided...nothing left to subtract...
some words when spoken...can't be taken back...
walks on his own...with thoughts he can't help thinking...
future's above...but in the past he's slow and sinking...
caught a bolt 'a lightnin'...cursed the day he let it go...
nothingman...
nothingman...
isn't it something?
nothingman...
she once believed...in every story he had to tell...
one day she stiffened...took the other side...
empty stares...from each corner of a shared prison cell...
one just escapes...one's left inside the well...
and he who forgets...will be destined to remember...
nothingman...
nothingman...
isn't it something?
nothingman...
oh, she don't want him...
oh, she won't feed him...after he's flown away...
oh, into the sun...ah, into the sun...
burn...burn...
nothingman...
nothingman...
isn't it something?
nothingman...
nothingman...
coulda' been something...
nothingman...
oh...ohh...ohh...

i get goosebumps when i hear vedder's poem "i'm open":

a man lies in his bed in a room with no door
he waits, hoping for a presence, something, anything to enter
after spending half his life searching, he still felt as blank as the ceiling at which he's staring
he's alive, but feels absolutely nothing
so, is he?
when he was 6 he believed that the moon overhead followed him
by 9 he had deciphered the illusion, trading magic for fact
no tradebacks...
so this is what it's like to be an adult?
if he only knew now what he knew then...
i'm open
i'm open

Oh man, I love Pearl Jam!

They wanted to do a concert in SA about 6years ago, but came to loggerheads with BIG CONCERTS over the ticket prices. They said the tickets should not cost more than R80 which was deemed affordable by the youngsters at the time. BC said they wanted to dictate the prices, and PJ then declined to come...Pity.

I love the album covers from PJ. In my lounge I have an enlarged version of the black and white shot of the man with his arm outstretched from YIELD...

Works of art...

10 was an incredible album, still Raw and edgy rock!

Why was the "Jeremy" video banned in the states?

I really love the ones I bolded. I've met Bowie. I have all his albums (records, not CD's). Favourite song is Station to Station off 'Stage', though.

Lou Reed-he was in Sydney last year for the Sydney Festival. He did a concert or two. The best thing though, was I went to a poetry recital. Ralph Fiennes was to participate and when I got there, they announced he wouldn't be and had a replacement. It wasn't until I took my seat that I saw Lou Reed up on stage. I was so excited, this was even better. Ah, it was heavenly. Managed to get a photo of him outside, too.
