You ride for whatever reason/s whether it is to stay fit or sometimes to compete or sometimes to prove something even or maybe just because we love to be in nature or close gates or help others with breakdowns etc. Nothing to do really with being classed a real mountain biker or not in my honest personal opinion of course. So still looking forward to the race/ride/gate closing exercise regardless. Hope to maybe meet some of you afterwards

Anyway, I ride for several reasons:¤try to keep fit (to keep the boep somewhat in check)¤To have some attempt at being competitive¤to irritate the boss - coming in late, not being available on weekends...¤to escape the madness at home with three small kids, and of course¤i like the look of my tan lines! You are going to wait a long time before I finish. The racing snakes and racing ponies have normally finished their second six pack by the time I am in. But don't worry, all the gates will be closed. . .

I started mtbking whilst living in the Eastern Cape and have done a fair few races down there and it's just so much more interesting with all the technical and nice single track.Man you are making me look forward to tomorrow a whole lot now!!! Come 12 O' Clock I think I will be required to do some carbo loading
de Wildt off roader Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Hallo guys & girls ,Just to let you know , with the blessed rain we had last night the dust has settled, and the terra firma is ready to except you .The routes are lovely , marking are done , boxes are built & the pallet bridges is nailed down .And as important , the farm fresh munchies is getting prepared.see you in the morning, we are looking forward to hosting you . PS make sure you get your rest tonight !

CogitoErgoSum Posted March 29, 2014 Author Posted March 29, 2014 I am sad to say that I was one of the many that got lost today. Decided at 30km enough after getting lost 4 times. The marking of the route has to improve drastically. This event has so much potential. They have to iron out the small niggling bits -¤route marking¤marshals has to be educated to what colour number board represents what distance¤some sections of the singeltrack is very rough, still needs more wheels on the route
