Hi

The last few races I get low back pain.

I did go for a bike fit, was advised that I need a zero offset seat post because there is some offset between my knee and foot (toes/cleat - can't remember).

But, I do not get knee pain nor any hip pain. Only my lower back. I can help myself to a decent squat and deadlift. What could the reason be for this back pain? Would a zero offset seat post help relieving the pain? I would defintely do some other rehab-styled exercises also.

Your knee should be exactly vertical above the pedal axle, when the crank arm is in the forward horizontal position.

I assume that the zero offset seat post will also get you sitting up a little bit more, not so stretched out, which should help with the lower back pain.

I found, when i started, that lower back pain was part of getting bike fit/strong. If you've been riding for a while, perhaps try borrowing a zero offset post to test the fit.

The bike fit guys do know more than I do, but if you're very sceptical, go for a second opinion at a different set up studio?
