New safety bike light invention

I see a new light has been invented for safety for cyclists. It will be interesting to see if it takes off. Anything to help safety would be appreciated.

At first glance it doesn't look like it would work that well. My thought always being that bigger and brighter is better but the findings of the study is pretty interesting.

Perhaps. I think the conditions in inner cities in the UK are different to SA too, with lower traffic speeds generally. Drivers would be more able to see the light and react accordingly.

I wonder if it works when combined with traditional lights at the same time.

I think that's a good idea. A good starting point at least.
