Entry range bike choice

Hi guys,

I'm still a beginner in mountain biking and now have to make the difficult choice of a mountain bike... I've been looking at the Axis A40 hard tail and the Silverback Sola 4, both has about the same specs, with only a slight weight difference.

 

Both has Shimano gears and hydraulic brakes, so I don't know which will be the better buy, the Silverback (which is R1500 more expensive) or the Axis. Any advice will be appreciated.

But is the quality between the Axis and Silverback really worth R1500? What makes the Silverback a better bike than the Axis? Is it only the brand name or is there a big difference in frame quality?

Im not an expert but my take on it would be that Axis selling point in all their marketing material is "the cheapest 29er on the market" or "the cheapest duel sus on the market" whereas Silverback's offering is about being value for money and with quality components which are up there with the cool brands. No-one will dispute that Silverback isnt a good option.
