The Old Mutual joBerg2c has announced age category prizes to complement its overall cash offering ahead of the start of the nine-day mountain bike race on Friday.

I am very happy to hear the Vets and Masters are getting better prizes.

I would think they make up a very large proportion of the participants in most races and therefore the competition is fierce, and should be rewarded accordingly. Perhaps prize money should be based on number of participants in a given category?

Missed out on the tread buffulo comp last year .I reckon this catagory will also be fiercly contested .I suspect 30% of the male participants fall into this >90kg group
