Okay, so I wasn't really sure where to put this topic but it seems suitable to cycling safety.

As I read in a topic earlier, most people wouldn't know what to do in the event of their buddy having a crash.

I thought of this product after hearing that many of the cyclists that pass away on our roads, because it took too long for someone to call am ambulance. This product would be a device with an accelerometer, a gyrometer, a gps and a sim card with the ability to notify your next of kin.

I would release 2 models. One middle and one high class. Mainly because not everyone would afford a lightweight carbon device and not everyone would use a heavier one.

Any advice on how I could make my dream work?

Thanks, Daniel.

There already is such an app. It's called "cradar". Available on android only. When switched on, the app uses the phone's accelerometer to detect a sudden change in motion. You set the sensitivity. Once triggered, a countdown begins (the length of which you can set) which you must respond to by pressing a button. Failing which (assuming you are incapacitated) an SMS will be sent. You configure which cell number the SMS is sent to. The SMS will contain the gps coordinates of where it was triggered along with a message of your choice, eg, "help! I've run out talent. Send an ambulance". Been out for a while already.
