Removing Cranks

I am moving my old 9 speed Ultegra components onto a new frame. I know you need some special tools to perform some tasks - is removing cranks one of them?

Yup you will need a Crank Extractor

and a Bottom Bracket removal tool. Get one for your specific bottom bracket

This one is for Shimano but kempekkernoglia and Isis needs diffrent tools.

 

You will also need a chain tool to fit your new chain and a decent set of hex (Allen) spanners. You may also need a cassette lockring tool if you want to fit a new cassette. You will also need a decent cable cutter. You cannot cut cables with a sidecutter.
