should I upgrade my wheels?

Hi Guys

 

Just need some advice on upgrading my bike. I've read lots of stories on the one thing that you should upgrade is your wheels.

 

Just a peek at my bike specs

- Merida Road Race

- Alu frame

- Carbon Fork

- Shimano Tiagra groupset

- Shimano R500 wheels

 

I want to upgrade at the moment... let's say my budget is R8000.

 

This bike cost me less than that... but do I sell and buy a new bike? or get a more decent set of wheels? And which wheels should I go for?

 

I know if I get a good pair of wheels I can always keep them when I upgrade to a carbon frame maybe too.

 

Any suggestions?
