Well Linex' date=' just called to say the engineering company had finished and they would collect the motor and put it all back together - should be ready tomorrow afternoon.

The engineering portion was R2700.00 which included the removal of the corroded grub screws and the fitting of 8 x helicoils.

I thought it was pretty fair what do you think Johan.?

Widget, nice of you to report back. It seems as if you got the job for about R330 per hole - fair price I think. Had you done the job yourself, you would have not paid any labour but had to buy a special-sized drill bit, a couple of helicoils and a special insertion tool. All-in-all a fair price. The best way to keep those grub screws safe is to keep the boat away from water.
