To the "bike messengers" commuting to work

 

This morning I was driving up Sandton drive, crossing over Rivonia where it becomes Katherine avenue ... and the 3 of you wove accross traffic on the other side of the robot.

 

How stupid can you be?

 

If you want to cross, do it before the traffic light, when motor vehicles are standing still or slowing down... not just after the traffic light, when everyone is accelerating and there are 2 full lanes of vehicles.

 

You were allmost clipped by a vehicle ... all 3 of you.

 

If youre a bike messenger in NYC, it is fine, traffic will be gridlocked, or crawling. Not when traffic is flowing freely. I was doing 40 and accelerating, 2 cars behind those that had to stop.

 

I can still handle cyclists not stopping at stop streets and red traffic lights, even if I dont condone it.

 

But playing stupid is as stupid does in traffic, gets me very annoyed.

 

Dont play chicken with 1.5 ton road users.
