Hi Guys, so I recently purchased a road-bike and am keen on attempting the Amashova 65km Half Challenge. I consider myself to be more of a recreational rider. Over the last 2 weeks I’ve been putting in some 'saddle-time' in preparation for the race.

I initially wanted to enter the 35km event but have been told by numerous people that it is a waste of time!. I would like to know whether i would make the 65km event with the limited training I have managed to put in. This will be my first event and i rather saviour some good memories rather than not being able to finish!

All advice is appreciated...

The 35km is way too short. It is really just to get the youngsters into a safe road ride.

The 65km is very manageable . The first 20 km`s or so there is a bit of climbing through inchanga and botha`s hill etc but when you get to Hillcrest it is a breeze down to Durban.

Do the 65 km you will really enjoy it.
