Riding in Parktown North & the surrounding areas

Hi all, 

We are busy setting up our Community website and were thinking of adding a link on it for cyclists in the area. 

We are aware of the amount of cyclists that run through our suburbs and through the Spruit, and would like to make our residents more aware of the fact that there are cyclists out there looking for others to ride with, or just more aware of events from and around the area. (There are lots of cyclist that dont know about this site)

So our first link on our website will be to this thread. This will hopefully draw residents that are not already hubbers to be aware of this site and encourage use of the Group Rides facility etc.

Please feel free to PM us direct or just pop a post here to get the ball rolling. (or would that be to "get the bikes rolling" )

Tell us if you are looking for a partner to ride with, or where in the area do you ride. What places would you warn others about not going to etc. 

Please note that like I said already, some residents that will be following our link are not fluent hubbers and so suggesting that they "just follow the Forum" is not what will get them started. 

We hope that this little idea works, but we do need your input.

I ride through Parktown North a few times a week to get to work. See plenty of cyclists in the mornings mostly riding alone. Have seen a few groups riding togethers once in a while though.

 

I'm in Mayfair, i know quite a few guys in my area that also do group rides through Parktown through to Houghton and back.
