What is it?

A brand new exciting project is about to start with the creation of a new Mountain Bike Festival in Pietermaritzburg which is to be known as the Pietermaritzburg MTB Festival.

 

The aim of the event is to incorporate elements that allow the South African mountain bike community to participate in some high quality competitions as well as be spectators for top end international events that will see some of the top riders in the world competing. It also allows for development and children’s events to be incorporated so that the scope of competitions is across the board.

 

This is to be the biggest and the best multi – discipline mountain bike event in the country and on the African Continent in 2015 and a leading event in the world when Cycling South Africa and its partners host the event.

 

Where is it?

The event will be staged at the Cascades MTB Park in the heart of Pietermaritzburg.

 

When?

The event will take place over the Easter Weekend in 2015 thus allowing for people to be able to travel to KZN to be part of the festival. The full event schedule including all of the various events and activities that will take place is as follows:

 

How do you get involved?

Entries for the events are now open and you can enter via www.cyclingsa.com or www.roag.co.za.

 

 

Total prizemoney for the different events are as follows:

• Enduro – R 45 000.00

• XCO HC: R 120 000.00

• XCO Masters: R 20 000.00

• Classic: R 80 000.00

• SA DHI: R 15 000.00
