Silverback Stride 20.. Gotta upgrade

Ok, So, I currently own a Schwinn DBX Super Sport, for Road riding (Actually only done about 300km, 1 Argus, and some training) and a Silverback Stride 20, 26" MTB. I bought the MTB off a buddy after I moved back to CT, and wanted to give Majik Forest a bash.

 

I live in Durbanville, and it seems like there is quite a few exciting tracks for MTB riders. I think I would like to partake! After all, a good MTB does a fine job at an Argus! Now I sit with the debate in my mind, of selling both bikes, and getting a 29er, or, selling only the Schwinn, and to start building up the MTB, component at a time. 

 

Advice? As building up the Silverback, would still result in me having a 26er, instead of a 29er.. I guess the choice is simple..
