Building new wheels for 26er

I have a set of Mavic Crosmax wheels - 26 er

Cant find spokes for it. 

Will it be possible to buy a different brand of rims and rebuilt a wheelset with mavic hubs and other brand of rims ?

I don't think so.

 

Mavic wheels are nice, but use a proprietary parts. As far as I know the spokes are alloy and quite thick using a special/proprietary nipple on the rim end and the hub end is also special/proprietary.

 

Not sure where you are from, but I have heard that Linden Cycles (Jhb/Gauteng) usually have spares for Mavic wheels (or they just know where to source the spares). 

 

How many broken spokes?
