Ride and collect all/as many/few check points as you wish!

 

This will be an adventure you’ll remember and a chance to spend many hours with your bike as a team in some of the most incredible areas.

Plenty route choices and amazing riding!

START/FINISH: MONTAGU, WESTERN CAPE

 

RACE VENUE : DE BOS, MONTAGU

• Handpicked/organic trails, taking in the remote and rarely visited gems.
  
• A 0-120km Adventure ride/mtb expedition race. Expect Adventure!
  
• Teams of 2-4.
  
• Teams will be using 1:50 000 topo maps with extra tracks available on master maps
  
• Teams will visit check points along the way.
  
• Riders will need to be self sufficient – same as normal AR.
  

CATERING: We will have a proper farm styled breakfast for you on the Sunday morning, Equipment: Per person

• Mountain bike
  
• Head torch with spare batteries
  
• Bike light – Extreme Lights is the way to go!
  
• Helmet
  
• “Waterproof” rain jacket “with a hood”
  
• Waterproof rain pants
  
• Fleece top
  
• Long sleeve base layer
  
• Food and drink for 24 hours
  
• Tights
  
• Dry bag/s to keep equipment dry – VERY IMPORTANT!
  
• Ziplock bag/similar to keep map dry
  
• Whistle
  
• Full finger gloves – to keep your hands warm and hopefully – dry…
  
• Space blanket
  
• Cash – you will visit one or two towns.
  

Per team:

• Compass
  
• Proper first aid kit
  
• 1 x pocket knife
  

Race info:

• Teams will navigate using 1:50 000 maps.
  
• There will master maps on display at the start venue. You will need to copy the CPs from it.
  
• Each team will receive a list of CP descriptions.
  
• The race starts at 05h00 on Saturday.
  
• Race course close on Sunday morning at 08h00
  
• Breakfast/brunch and prize giving on Sunday at 10h00 the race venue
  

ENTRY FEE: R700.00 pp

 

ENTRY includes a branded tog bag, great prizes from First Techonology, Sunday breakfast

VENUE/ACCOMMODATION:

“De Bos” in Montagu is the venue for the weekend! This place is the perfect spot to book yourself in with all kinds of options – camping to self catering. Don’t dither though… When you book, please mention that you will be taking part in the Adventure Race for that weekend.
