To those cyclist at the Fountains this morning

This morning at 5:30 I saved your lives. I ignored a green light and stopped in the middle of an intersection thus  allowing 20 odd riders to pass right in front. I congratulate myself on doing it on such short notice because I only noticed you at the last second. The traffic travelling in the your direction was waiting at the red light and unfortunately obscured you from my view.

Short version. 20 riders blew through a red light and if I didn't climb on the brakes I would've had a few hood ornaments.

I missed them on purpose but maybe I just should have plowed through them and afterwards mumbled something along the line of "this is what happens when cyclists skip red lights".

 

So the summary was I was driving down Eeufees road and was about to cross the intersection to enter the Fountains for an 5:30 Groenkloof ride. Just as I entered the intersection with the light green about 20 rider blew through the red on their way towards Centurion. I luckily stopped in time therefor saving their lives.

Blu82, i apologise on behalf of the other dicks on this thread for their comments. Thanks for doing what you did.

It still amazes me that cyclists do that.
