NEWBIE CYCLIST Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Hi There, I am all new at cycling (been doing it for 2 months now) and started riding in the Cradle on weekends. I however am ready to cycle during the week in the cradle as well. Are there people cycling during the week from about 5:30 am onwards at the Cradle. Will it be safe to cycle then? I know on weekends that time there are plenty cyclists on the road already.... I am planning to do a 60km route, so it will take me about 3 hours max... Any advice? Thanks, the NEWBIE...
Patchelicious Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Yes, lots of people do. Many guys come from the Broadacres centre and do a loop of the cradle, around 5am every morning. Just make sure you have a light on the back of your bike.
Marijan Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Regarding safety, I always cycle alone on the cradle and it seems pretty safe to me even if its very early. The only dodgy stretch is the outer half portion of the Sterkfontein caves extention. Has anyone heard of any issues happening on cradle?
