You will be in for an absolute treat, I promise you, this fork is mind blasting;) Mine was also a 120 and I am loving the 140mm travel. The other epic thing about this fork is the fact that the travel is internally adjustable (120mm-150mm on the 29er and 140mm-170mm on the 650b if im not mistaken) so if you really wanted you could stay at 120 or slowly increase your travel as and when you want more. I would suggest go straight to 140, i will never look back.

..... until you try 160mm ..... c'mon ..... you know you wanna :)

There is nothing more instantly gratifying than more travel.

From a 120mm fork to a 140mm fork of this calibre.

Oh man you are gonna be so stoked.

The max fork travel recomended for my meta is 160mm.

The travel on my fork can be adjusted (on the fly) to a max travel of 180mm.

This poses a serious problem for me.

Better judgment vs fingers sticky with temptation to dial that knob even further.

I like to be different too.

Probably why i'm so stupidly obsessed with 26 inch wheels.

If you buy a pike.

I wont be able to look my children in the eyes when I tell them what you did.

Crank up the volume ...... you know what they say - if it's too loud you too old :)

Not to be THAT guy, but if prices are similar I would always go with reputation and reliability.  The Pike has been the benchmark for the last year and a bit.  The Fox 36 is now moving ahead, but at a massive premium.

I shunned a Pike in favour of an X-fusion because it was a R4k difference in price.  Otherwise I would always have gone Pike.

Having ridden a Pike on a few of my local DH runs I am convinced the fork is an engineering miracle.

But if being unique is your thing, go MRP.  Just know that by the looks of it, as was the case with PYGA (and lately SC Nomads...rich people hey!), soon you won't be that unique.
