Well that settles it for me, won't ever consider conti again

maxxis / schwalbe  ftw

I think you're making a mistake. Conti know what they're doing and Schwalbe do to. Look at the min recommended pressure for all those tyres and you'll see its aroun 1.8 bar for all of them. Below that tyre casing is supporting load and it's not designed to do that.

Rode my tubeless 2.1 Kenda's  on the Epic at 1.8 rear and 1.6 front. Rode the tyres to zero tread after that and no failure. In 20 years of mtb never had a failure as described by the agent. Have had Conti's burp so I don'y use them anymore.

Have had Kenda's delaminate due to sealant attack but they have resolved this problem now.

Hate that sickening feeling of rim hitting mother earth so i run my hardtail rear at 2bar, its a personal preferance that suits the individuals combination of bike/tyre/terrain/riding style

This depends a lot on your tire wall thickness as well,I have the Protection ones and you can run them pretty low. It also depends on your rim width internally. I had some Eastons before and found that you had to run the tire quite hard for them not to jump off the rim, with the Flow ex I have now that's not such a big issue anymore.
