RallyRob Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Staying at Bakubang (Pilansberg) next week and was wondering if there's anywhere nearby to ride my mountain bike.....something in the region of 40km would be ideal.
Milosh Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Inside sun city is a nice ride along the inside of fence down to water world and back , I was at vc and did warm up to bakubang gate and back , can do loops of golf course service roads to add some interesting variations , bit shorter than you are looking for though And some good climbing , 400 m elevation in 20 odd km
Milosh Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 "Golf courses are fine as long as you don't upset the golfers or ride on the grass. If you looking for a challenge tomorrow morning. Go on the following route:Head from VC reception towards the gate going towards Bakubang. Just before the gate, turn right. Along that road, take a first left onto the fence line (one of the turn offs is the garden refuse dump not that one.Follow the fence line until you come out the big lake near Cabanas (turn off just before your reach the reeds) That route is slightly technical in places with some ok climbs. " Not far but good ride , looking forward to next visit :-)
