Good day everyone.

I'm brand new to the site and a rookie, so please bear with me

Two of our 947 Cycle Challenge Ride for a Cause coordinators suggested that I post details about our Foundation and a link to our event in the hope that we can get as many cyclists to ride for our cause as possible.

We are a non-profit company which relies on Funding from corporates and individuals to help any person in need.

Our projects are sustainable, and in conjunction with our beneficiaries we aim at instilling a lasting and tangible difference. With this ethos in mind, Acorn will constantly and relentlessly seek to raise funds through exciting and new campaigns.

Our projects and beneficiaries include:

Our major beneficiary for this year’s Ride for a Cause will be Bambanani Youth Centre in Thokoza, which needs a major revamp and additions to convert the facility into an Early Childhood Development Center, After school care center, Community Clinic, Skills Development Centre and a Bakery and Vegetable garden project aimed to assist the center to become self-sustainable and generate on-going income.  The entire project budget is 2 million rand, however, we hope to raise R500,000 so that we can provide them with a bakery and veggie tunnels, so that they can feed themselves, generate income and provide additional counselling to vulnerable children and their families.

Our Charity Team Leader will be Maurice Cuchet, himself an avid and very capable cyclist.

Should you be interested in riding for our cause, donate towards our cause or wish to become involved with organising our event and fund raising, please mail me on sue@acornfoundation.org.za.  Check out our website for projects and beneficiaries we support http://www.acornfoundation.org.za/about-us/our-beneficiaries/ and all the causes we support http://www.acornfoundation.org.za/about-us/vision-mission/

Mr Cuchet and Mr Bjorkman, I sure hope you read this and send it on :w00t:
