sadamhussein Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 the other day I came flying down the spruit at lightspeed, totally in a zone, and loving life. as I came to a part of the trail where there was a bit of a bottle-neck around a wooden fence, there was a group of old people on bikes crawling in the opposite direction. obviously a collision between us was not favourable, and kindly the two old ballies in front departed the single-track to their left and came to a stop. As I whizzed past I nodded and shouted thanks. Unfortunately one of the ladies behind them was like a deer in the headlights and froze momentarily. At this point I departed the single-track to my left, totally in the clear with no danger to anyone, but she then also went to my left!I hit the brakes, did some emergency skidding and maneuvering, and continued to fly around her to the right again. It could have gone badly but luckily it didn't. her reaction was less than kind and she shouted quite angrily "where am I supposed to go?!!?"I shouted back, "keep left like on the road!" as I continued on my way. was i wrong? I anticipated collision long before they even saw me, but when it seemed imminent I kept left, and if she had kept to HER left there would have been no problem. I fear that there is one less mountainbiker today because of me
