Please follow the link below, Max Msuma has started it as he saw a great need for commuters. As per the link below here is the initiative as copied from the site.. "THE STORY BEHIND THE INITIATIVE A customer walked into the shop a few weeks ago and being new in cycling, started doing longer distances over weekends and week mornings, and by doing this he noticed more and more commuters/workers commuting to work without helmets. Simple reason is that they can’t afford it. So he started a little project that he named “Helmets 4 Life”. The initiative is to get people to donate their old helmets (preferably not damaged) or even new helmets that they’re just not using to help the ones who don’t have and even more so, cannot afford them. Hot Spot Cycles has a collection box in the shop for anyone willing to bring in their old or unused helmets. Once there are enough helmets, Max will come and collect them and he will then distribute it in Mamelodi and on the streets wherever he sees someone without a helmet. This is a story about a cyclist just going by his everyday training and noticing that commuters whose only means of transport is a bicycle, are in great need of protection for their heads. We thank him for taking this initiative upon himself. The person who is responsible for the collection and distribution is Max Msumza.
