Colnago Tecnos bottom bracket thread

Hi.

 

What are the chances that the bottom bracket thread in my Tecnos is anything other than Italian?

Is there any way i can tell without pulling it out - I don't have the tools?

Im pretty sure it will be Italian.

Is there any writing visiable on the BB cups?

Otherwise the only other way is to have it removed.

 

Why do you want to know if you dont plan on removing it?

The bike currently has an Ultegra group set - I'm in the process of collecting the necessary Chorus bits to replace the Ultegra and will have a bike shop do the work when I've got everything. Just don't want to take it apart in the meantime, want to keep riding.....

If you running an External type BB then it should have some writing on it.

As per this image. (Standard British Thread Shown) One side has right hand thread, the other left hand thread.

 

Italian should have 36mm x 24TPI written somewhere. And both sides threads are right handed.
