Stolen: Trek Superfly 2012 (Cape Town)

Stolen: Trek Superfly 2012
When: 25 July 2015
Where: Cape Town, Western Cape

Cycling the single track next to black hill just above the bike park. Three guys jumped out of the bush and held my friend and I up at knife point. They stole my Trek Superfly. Given the limited people I know with that bike I would think it hard for them to sell... but then I am not sure where all these stolen bikes end up?

 

If there a way to notify bike shops/ register the bikes as stolen?

 

Its obviously a problem that these guys are getting away with it each time, as they are working out that it is an easy way to rob someone of something worth significant value.

 

The police were on the scene within 10 minutes but seemed to be more interested in the paper work than trying to track and catch the culprits. If we are going to put an end to it we are going to need good armed response teams to get to the incident and catch these bastards fast.
