Anyone have one of these? It's due time i invest in a helmet can't keep borrowing every time i want to ride my bike! would this be a good lid to start? Im open to suggestion for any other brand's in a similar price range.

found it on the classifieds advertised by http://www.helmsmancycles.co.za/

If this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/poc-cortex-flow-helmet-2015/rp-prod132380 is the same thing then it's a definite steal!!

I have the exact same helmet.

Its the first full face I have used for mtb so I cant compare it to other full face helmets such as the TLD's, Giro's etc.

Its comfy, light and reasonably well ventilated. And at that price its a steal.

What are you going to use the helmet for? I assume you don't have a helmet at all by saying you need to borrow one every time you ride?

Its not a helmet to wear for every ride though, if you are not doing any other riding other than purely down hill orientated riding I would rather get a trail helmet.

I ride mostly aggressive trail / Enduro terrain so peddle / walk up and majority gravity assisted back down. im not confident enough to hit our local DH track or the bigger stuff just yet. Open face helmet's make me feel even less confident. I will eventually get both and switch out on my ride depending on whatever trail i might choose.

If you plan on buying 2 helmets you better off saving for the Bell Super 2R.

Its not a certified downhill helmet, but its perfect for trail smashing and the chin guard is removable.

I ride a full face myself no matter which bike or trail I'm on. I strap it on my back when going up and when I'm at the top I use my ring to summon the powers of the ancient dinosaurs and morph, mighty morph.

It is not the most convenient option for longer rides and the lack of ventilation means sweating buckets when cruising between trails or doing lots of ups and downs. Especially in summer. I can't imagine slogging 2 helmets with me though so I just soldier on.

It will be a while before i actually get down too buying the second helmet, i still need to get some knee protection and i would like a hydration pack. So first things first full face protection.
