Hi All

Apologies if this is the wrong place for this post but I'm new to MTBing and cycling in general.

I'm looking to get a bike rack of some sort, I'm driving a A3 Sedan.

My other half has also scouted for one and found one but I think the flexibity of having a rack for each car is handy.

I don't have a tow bar and it seems like quite a costly excerise to have the tow bar and bike rack installed (especially Audi's racks).

I had a look at the carriers that don't need tow bars and they seem pretty reasonable. My first question is, are these carriers reliable and is there any damage that people have experienced on their vehicles?

Second question is if they are safe to use and won't damage the car then which one to get, I saw that Thule has the passage 910XT for R1,900 and Tungha has a similar carrier for R1,000.

I've never heard of Tungha but are they reliable? The Tungha one actually looks more solid but I know Thule is the brand of choice, is there a difference between the two?

Thanks for the help in advance.
