Sabre Paints is sponsoring an open weekend for all Tygerberg MTB club members, as well as Bottelary Hills annual permit holders, on the Hazendal Family MTB trail on the weekend of 12 & 13 March 2016.  The aim is for families to have a nice, relaxed ride with the kids/dad/mom/friends now that the Argus rush is over.

The route is entirely on the Hazendal farm and is ideal for children and beginners to learn and hone their MTB skills.  It is 7 km long, of which at least 6 km is easy single track. There are four route options varying from 1,2 km to 7 km (as well as a 500 meter basic skills course). Although almost completely flat, it is not designed to be ridden at high speed.

Please take note of the following terms and conditions:

  • The Hazendal Family MTB Trail is an independent trail and NOT part of the Bottelary Hills MTB trails.  The open weekend is only for Hazendal - NOT for Bottelary Hills.
  • You must have a 2016 Tygerberg MTB club or Bottelary Hills membership board on your bike
  • You can bring as many non-members (kids, mom, dad, grandparents, friends) with you as you like, on condition that you ensure that they all sign the  indemnity form and ride with you as a group.  Please ensure that you have the authority to sign an indemnity for all children in your group.
  • To download the indemnity form go to the Sabre Paints website -  http://www.sabre.co.za/  - click on " sponsorships" and then on the indemnity pdf file
  • No "board-less" riders will be allowed on the trail unless they are accompanied by a Tygerberg MTB club or Bottelary Hills member.
  • You can ride from 7.30 am  until 6 pm.

(Please like this post if you are planning to attend)

Just an update - the open day is now open to everyone  - just sign the indemnity form at the table at the start (look for the gazebo at the back of the parking lot) and start your ride,

Youngest solo rider (? ) 3 year old Ross Travers takes the skills course in his stride...whilst his younger brother seen here hitching a lift could be the youngest ever rider...
