JHB (Lanseria) to Parys road route recommendations

I'm planning an unsupported road ride with a mate from Lanseria to Parys. Does anyone have recommendations for appropriate routes, being mindful of avoiding busy, or unsafe roads, towns etc?

My riding partner and I just did a route from JHB to Potch this weekend - there we ent trhough Krugersdorp - Rietfontein - Carltonville and Potch 

 

And back we came Potch- Parys-Sasolburg - Vereeniging etc etc

 

Eventough the roads were narrow the cars and trucks were 99% of the time VERY respectful and passed in the on-coming lane..

Edit: so from Lanseria maybe go through the Cradle, pass the caves, up that terrible Krugersdorp climb and then onto the route we followed...
