(ADW) When Luxembourg cyclist Bob Jungels and Holland's Niki Terpstra ride in the same race, there's bound to be a confusion. Why? Because their jerseys are virtually identical, puzzling many cycling fans at Sunday's Amstel Gold Race.

The start of the Ardennes classics for Dutch fans is always a special race, as the Amstel Gold is the only World Tour race in the Netherlands.

Many devoted Dutch cycling fans were present on Sunday to cheer on their cycling hero, however there was just one problem. Following a fall in the classic Paris-Roubaix race, Terpstra was not present at the start of the race in Maastricht.

However Jungels was in the race, sporting his red, white and (light) blue jersey in the peloton, leading many Dutch cycling fans unknowingly to support the 23-year-old Luxembourger, believing him to be Terpstra.

It isn't hard to see the confussion, as both riders compete for the same team, Etixx, and as a rider whizzes by, it is difficult to tell one from the other.

Jungels approached the odd situation with humour via Twitter “Dear Dutch fans, thank you very much for all your support, but I have to disappoint you, I'm not Niki Terpstra.”

It didn't take long for Terpstra to reply with, “Haha, at least good to hear the 'real' fans where (sic) there! Good race Bob!”

Just to be clear... Although we're sure @BobJungels didn't mind the extra support.
