Raleigh MTB Frame Sizes

I bought a 17" Raleigh RM 6.0 in November 2006.  Two weeks ago I cracked the frame (after 8100km), so Raleigh is now replacing it with the 2008 RM 6.0 frame.

 

Problem is that the 2007 models came in the sizes 15", 17", 19" and 21".  The 2008 models come in 16", 18" and 20".

 

Which 2008 frame size will be the correct one to replace my 17" frame with?  I can only find the geometry info on the 2008 models, so I can't do the comparison myself.

 

The 17" was already slightly small, so I would prefer to go one inch up rather than going smaller.

Hi there,

In 2006 there was not an RM 6.0 model yet, so I assume that you had an RM5.0? You can still see the geometry here:

It is best to look at top tube lengths. But it sounds to me like you already have the answer, you should go for the bigger frame if you think the 17 is a bit small.

You know how it is with bicycles:  The next years models get released by the end of the year.  So, in November 2006 the 2007 Raleighs were released.

 

I don't know what the logic is behind it.  So, I do have a RM6.0.
