Bianchi Sempre Pro 28c tyre compatibility

Cheers Hubbers,

Having read a lot of positive feedback on the use of tyres wider than 23c, I am finally ready to give it a shot myself.

While I am almost certain that my Sempre Pro Frame and Scirocco 35 wheels will be compatible with 25c wheels, I am unsure if I can push it to 28c. Campy indicates that the sciroccos can take 28c tyres but I can't get any info on compatibility from Bianchi on my frame.

Has any of you perhaps successfully tried the described combination?

Any advice would really be welcome.

Best is to fit it on. Take it to your LBS and Im sure they can help you out. Worst case is they don't fit and you buy the 25C. Different rims have different ERTO sizes so depending on internal width of rim determines what size tyre you can fit. A 28C tyre on a 15mm rim will sit higher than on a 17mm rim. Make of tyre is also dependent and it might fit in the front but not in the back.

Thanks for the helpful advice Cippo!

Just a thought: is there any value in measuring the clearance with the current 23c setup to predict clearance with 25c/28c set up?

Also what would be the minimum acceptable clearance with any setup?
