HI Guys

I need some advice on which bike to replace my old one.

So I'm not a professional by any standards but have been cycling weekends for just over a year on a very old Merida Race 901 with sora equipment. Had a accident and looking to replace old faithfull with something better.

I never though I would enjoy cycling so bought a "cheapy" to see if cycling was for me. Now that I'm hooked, I want to replace with something good that I will not have to replace in a few years.

ideally id like to get a carbon but struggling to make a choice, it doesn't have to be brand new, because I know you get more value for money on used bikes. I have about 15-20k budget. I'm 1.82 so I know I'm a 56 M/L.

here is the list of bikes iv seen and need advice on which one is best:

Merida Reacto 5000 (just out of my budget)

Merida Reatto 4000

Scott Foil

Trek Emonda S5

I know Merida has Reacto 300/400 alu frame, should I consider these as well?

Just too many choices...

Any advice?

I'm personally not all that familier with the bikes you've msntioned but my advice is fairly simple as it's the way I would approach it, choose the highest spec bike you can find for your money, that way you'll feel confident with the purchase from a value point of view as well as, and most importantly, the confidence in the piece of equipment under you.

I would go for the Merida Reacto 4000 and use the spare cash to upgrade the wheels. I am also 1.82 and my reacto was a M.

My 2nd choice would be the Scott Foil.
