Direct is probably not viable for all products in any case (in my opinion). For instance, Direct to consumer for Fast Moving Consumer Goods will probably never be possible. The distribution channels and volumes will make ordering 1 Can on Coke difficult for the Factory to handle. Bicycles on the other hand is surely different, especially for niche/smaller players (hence YT, Canyon etc use this) Plus I never said they must go direct, I was wondering why they are not going direct.
