Entry level MTBs for husband and wife

My husband and I are looking to buy some entry level MTBs - max budget probably R7500, but ideally 5/6k. We don't want to invest too much in case we don't take to the sport.

 

We've priced a few options at Cycle Lab and Cajees (all 650b), and are trying to find out if any of these are good options for us, or if we should rather be going to second hand route.

 

Male bikes:

• Silverback Stride 650B
• Scott Aspect 770 650B
• A Titan in a similar price range

Female bikes (is it necessary to buy a female bike?)

• Fuji Addy 1.7 Ladies
• Liv Tempt 3 27.5
• Titan Rogue Calypso Sport 650B 
• Titan Rogue Calypso Cruz 650B 

Are any of these decent? Or will they put us off cycling forever?
