Morning Guys

I ride one of the new Epic Evo's but the ALu Frame 120mm sus upfront upgraded some drive train components from NX eage to X01

Now , The standard Roval wheels if its correct is 1600g for the set , yesterday enquired about Carbon can get Roval or Zero two I think it was 1500g realy worth 20K

Thanks

You don't get carbon wheels to save weight, you get carbon wheels for stifness and how they ride.

Personally on an XC bike I would take carbon wheels over a carbon frame any day of the week. But for me, at 20k, I would much rather splash out money on something like cSixx XCM rims laced to Hope Pro 4 hubs. Bulletproof and light.

Another option is Nextie rims, really good quality, but not so expensive options. If you go through Nic the Wheelbuilder he can build them onto Hope hubs for alot less than 20k.

You're right!

** Hand built** Nextie Premium rims on Hope Pro4 hubs with bladed spokes and brass nipples for R15k, coming in at 1500g.

The really cool thing about Nexties is you as a rider can choose the graphics colour options, spoke hole count, internal (like ENVE) or external nipples and rim width to suit your riding style and bike.

I'm really a fan of South Industries rims too. Really great combination of price, weight, strength and "local is lekker" with amazing support from the guys. South rims on Hopes for about R20k.

In my opinion, lighter than 1650g in an alloy wheel set will be fragile. Don't do it.
