Shortened version of their story:

My name is Angelique, and I am the proud mother is 2 little boys, Pedrie (6) and Jandré (3) . Jandré has been very ill for a very long time, as his doctors struggled to diagnose him. His body responded in a very unique way to his condition since the beginning. He's been diagnosed with a very rare Leukemia called Early Precursor Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 29 May 2019. This subtype of Leukemia is very hard to get rid of, therefore his Doctors strongly suggest that we get him on two kinds of chemo; PEG LASPAR and Nelarabine, which has only recently been approved in the USA. Medical Aids in South Africa do not recognise these drugs yet, but it is proven to be his best chance to get him into remission and get him to stay in remission. When he gets into remission he still has a long road of bone marrow transplant to go through, but he is very blessed, as the national stem cell registry has come up with 100 matches. Both national and international match results are so hig, that that the doctor was worried there might be some mistake. She has never seen the amount of donors this high, what a miracle! This means that our little Jandré will be spared from the 6 months of really intense chemo and ultimately the three years of treatment that we were looking at initailly, should there not be a match. Now he just needs to get into remission, then we can do the transplant.

We are trying to raise the money for him so that the doctors can order the above chemo on time, in order for Jandré to stay on his treatment schedule. That means he needs to raise R 950 000 in 4 week's time. Doctor's believe that this is the best chance for our little fighter to beat this. Jandré has been ill since he was a baby and he's spent more time in hospita being prodded and poked, than any 3 year old should. We want to give our little boy the best chance to fight this.
