Scott Spark 730 1 x upgrade

Hi All, I'm considering upgrading from my 2x 10 system to a  to a 1 x 11 or 12, but thought to check the following:

1) can it be done? Cwc has the m6100 kit for sale, and I know I need a microspline etc

2) is it worth doing it on an older bike? Would I make more sense to rather sell just my current ride and buy a newer bike? I am very happy with my bike, and don't really want to sell, just try keep her up to date and clean up the cockpit.
