Does anyone have experience with the Pirelli Scorpion mixed terrain or hard terrain mountainbike tyres?

My current Maxxis front tyre will be up for replacement soon and wanted to try something new. I have once had a Vittoria Barzo up front for a brief while but was unimpressed with the durability - many punctures and sidewall cuts that I have had nothing off with the Maxxis Ardent and Ardent Race. I have read favourable reviews on the Pirellis online but it always helps to get first hand information from actual users of the product.

The mixed terrain is an excellent tyre for the front. If you can find it in a 2.4 then I would highly recommend it. The hard is more of a rear tyre for me. Not super aggressive but for the average to good rider it is a solid choice. Been using them for about 4 years.

My favourite Maxxis front tyre for all-round MTB riding is the Forecaster. More grip than the Ardent and not as heavy and "dead" feeling.

On my own bike I use a Vittoria Agarro which has been faultless. Very grippy, durable and compliant.

No experience with the Pirelli's though...

Supporting what @Lynskey says, great all round tyre combo with the mixed on the front and hard on the rear. I will also highly recommend the XC Race lite version of the Pirelli scorpion in 2.4. Super reliable and great all round tyre with this version being much lighter. But they are like hens teeth.
