Are cst patrol tyres good for xc?

Hi everyone,I recently had an Ikon (29x2.35) tyre on the front and at the rear a 2.25.I then put on a Cst patrol(29x2.25) and it had great grip,my front Ikon then got cut and I was stuck between getting another Ikon (29x2.4) or a cst patrol(29x2?4).Eventually I decided that the cst patrol was my choice,worth it or should I get a other tyre?(Any recommendations appreciated)

My bike is a hardtail xc.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with them, I’m not sure their puncture resistance is as good as the Maxxis. Decathlon has some Maxxis at ridiculously low prices so maybe have a look.

PS I don’t see the Maxxis on their site but I saw them marked down in the store in Bryanston when I was there so maybe give them a call to see what they’ve got. I think they were R400 or so each.

Thanks I'll take a look,my main objective is a fast rolling tyre such as an Ikon but as you know the Ikon isn't very puncture/cut proof
