If anyone is looking for a 60+ partner for the 2026 Cape Epic, I am open. I finished the 2025 Cape Epic as an individual. My teammate had a severe gastrointestinal issue the day before the Prologue, made it through the Prologue, but just couldn’t keep going on Stage 1. I fought my way forward the rest of the week overcoming other adversity and learning a ton.

You can find my results from 2025 under team Kentucky Fried.

Hi Darrin,

Are you still looking for a partner? I have done 3 epics ( 2012, 2014 and 2023). Last one my partner struggled really badly and bailed on stage 5.

Let me know

Hi Rob, I do not have an entry, but putting myself out there if any 60+ teams need a partner.  I'm staying fit and racing in case someone needs a partner.  I know lots of things happen leading up to the race with teams.  I was the opposite of your teammate with my performance last year.  I was far better the last 4 days than the first 4 days.

Hi Darrin,

I have an entry and am looking for a partner. I am 63. I agree, with the right training, one feels better towards the end of the race. I train with a coach who specialises in the Epic and he has a 17 week programme that works very well. As an objective, it would be nice to finish in top 5 of the great grandmasters category

Hi Rob, we should discuss. I believe I am capable of a top 5. For example, 2025 Stage 5, the Queen Stage, I rode within 3 minutes of the 5th place Great Grand Masters team that day. I had been a solo rider since Stage 1 and was riding hard, but also not pushing for anything more than finishing since I was an individual.

Hi Darrin, not sure if you’re sorted yet, but I’m also looking for a partner for 2026.
Masters 55–59 rider with an entry already confirmed.
If you’re still considering options, happy to chat.
