Squad Series isn't about individual glory. It's about something bigger: teamwork, strategy, and the bonds forged when you ride together toward a common goal.

Set in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, Squad Series brings a fresh format to South African mountain biking – a team-based race where communication, tactics, and trust matter just as much as power and speed.

This is where friends become teammates. Where strategy meets suffering. Where crossing the finish line together means more than any solo victory ever could.

HOW IT WORKS: Unlike traditional MTB races where riders compete individually, Squad Series requires teams to:

• Start together

• Ride together (or within specified proximity)

• Finish together (or within allowed time gap)

• Support each other through mechanical issues

• Strategize pace and energy management

• Communicate constantly

WINNING CRITERIA:

• Fastest team time wins

• All team members must complete the course

• Teams exceeding allowed separation may incur time penalties

• Strategy matters as much as speed

• • Medical: ER24 on course and at finish

  • Feed zones: Strategic nutrition/hydration stops

  • Mechanical: Limited support – teams must be self-sufficient

  • Race officials: Course marshals and safety monitoring

  • Communication: Race radio and on-course support
